Q 3: Which microprocessor does your personal computer have? Which generation does it belong to?

Ans: In a computer system microprocessor is also known as central processing unit. It is a main chip in the computer system which receive and process instruction. To check the microprocessor brand and model installed in a computer follow below mentioned steps:

Step 1: Open starts and search for task manager

Step 2: Click on the performance tab

Step 3: Click on CPU

Step 4: Get the processor information in the top right-hand corner.

Finding the generation of the processor:

If you have an Intel core processor the generation is the first number after i9,i7,i5,i6 so on.,

Find below some the examples of the processors:

13th Gen processor example: Intel Core Processor i7-13700K is 13th Gen because 13 is given right after the i7.

12th Gen processor example: Intel Core Processor i9-12700K is 12th Gen because 12 is given right after the i7.

6th Gen processor example: Intel Core Processor i5-6700K is 6th Gen because 6 is given right after the i5.

Q 4: What is the clock speed of your microprocessor?

Ans: Clock speed is a mechanism to check the speed of a microprocessor. In general higher clock, speed refers to a faster CPU. The clock speed measures the number of cycle the processor executes per second. It is measured in GHz (gigahertz).

Q 5: Name any two devices in your school or home that have a microcontroller.

Ans:  Various devices are available in our school or home that have  microcontrollers like LCD/Smart TV, Digital board, Light sensing & controlling devices like Fans, AC, and lights.

Q 6: Check the size of RAM and HDD or a computer in your school. Make a table and write their size in Bytes, Kilobytes, Megabytes and Gigabytes.

Ans: On my computer, right-click and go to properties you will get the size of RAM. In my case, I have 3.00 GB RAM.

For HDD size go to the computer management. For this, click on the start button and search computer management. You will able to see the disk space available and the total HDD size of your system. In my case, I have 298 GB usable disk size.

Now, conversion-

RAM:

3GB = 3*103=3072 MB [1024=103]

 = 3072*103=3145728 KB

= 3145728*103 = 3221225472e9 byte

HDD:

298 GB =(298*103) MB = (298*106) KB = (298*10243) bytes

Q 7: List all secondary storage devices available at your school or home.

Ans: Here, In my case, I have –

Pen Drives

CD/DVDs

Old Floppy Disks(Unused and unserviceable)

Hard Disks etc.

Q 8: Which operating system is installed on your computer at home or school?

Ans: In my case, we have Microsoft Windows 10 on all machines, but in some of the old machines Microsoft Windows 7 is also available.
